The new Subaru Forester makes a handful of changes to the previous model year, most of them coming in the form of small feature additions to various trim levels. Probably the biggest change to the new Subaru Forester is the increase of standard driver assistance features. Otherwise, the new Subaru Forester is a carryover from the previous model year. Brattleboro and Bennington, VT drivers can look forward to standard symmetrical all-wheel drive, a roomy rear cargo storage area, seating for up to five passengers, and a standard bundle of driver assistance features.

What's new with the 2021 Subaru Forester?

To start, the base trim level of the new Subaru Forester sees the most changes. Indeed, drivers can look forward to new additions like steering-responsive LED headlights, automatic high beams, and a rear seat belt reminder system. The Sport, Premium, and Limited trims also see a few new changes. The Premium trim adds in fog lights and keyless entry/ignition while the Sport trim adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert. The Limited trim now offers Winchendon, MA drivers the option of a 7-speed manual mode for the continuously variable transmission.

Performance

The Subaru Forester does not see a change in the performance realm (other than the available 7-speed manual mode with the Limited trim), keeping the same 2.5-liter flat-4 engine along with symmetrical all-wheel drive. The sole 2.5-liter flat-4 engine makes 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. Peterborough, NH drivers enjoy paddle shifters with the Sport trim, as well.

Standard Equipment

As with most every Subaru model, the Forester comes equipped with an impressive set of standard features. The base trim touts standard symmetrical all-wheel drive, automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, two USB ports, steering-responsive LED headlights, and whole package of driver assistance features. The EyeSight safety suite provides Bennington, VT area drivers with a variety of driver assistance features to take on busy winter roads with increased confidence. The Subaru EyeSight suite includes forward collision mitigation (with automatic emergency braking), adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert prevention, and lane-centering. The Forester also includes ample tech offerings, with a 6.5-inch touchscreen being a highlight along with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
