Did you know that when you change your oil, the metal drain plug gasket should also be REPLACED? It's called a drain plug crush gasket and it's designed to be used only once. Recently, we had a Subaru towed to Subaru of Keene. It seems the owner went to a "Quick Lube" facility which reused the drain plug and crush gasket. (Most of these facilities don't even carry the part.) Over time it leaked, backed off, and then had a catastrophic failure - destroying the engine.

What is a wheel alignment and why is it important?

In its most basic form, a wheel alignment consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other. It's like a chiropractor making adjustments to align your spine (except your Subaru won't make those "cracking" sounds that your back does). Just as you get instant relief after an adjustment, so does your car after an alignment.

An accurate wheel alignment is critical to balance the treadwear and performance a vehicle's tires deliver. Regular wheel alignments will usually save you as much in tire wear as they cost, and should be considered routine, preventative maintenance.
