2019 Subaru Forester: Performance

This year's 2019 Subaru Forester sees a major update in terms of performance. Previous Forester model years offered two available engine options, but this year's 2019 Forester is now available with one enhanced engine option. All models come equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 182-horsepower, while still retaining impressive fuel economy both in the city and on the highway. That's 12-horsepower more than the standard engine on previous model years. Every model continues to come equipped with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, allowing you to enjoy optimal traction, handling and control whether you're taking on slippery or icy roads, rugged terrain or everyday city streets, and with 8.7-inches of ground clearance to boot, it's easy to take on Keene winters and off road explorations with peace of mind knowing that your Forester is designed to do it all!

2019 Subaru Forester: Interior Features

One of the major updates to this year's 2019 Forester is a redesign that increases the interior size and a wider rear gate opening for easier access. The 2019 Forester now offers up to 111.9 cubic feet of passenger volume, with added legroom and the addition of an available panoramic moonroof for an open feel that everyone can enjoy. The cargo space has also been extended up to 76.1 cubic feet with the rear seats down, and with a power rear gate, you'll have no problem packing in everything on your next adventure. For even more space, the new 2019 Forester offers available raised roof rails, making it easy to bring along bikes, kayaks, skis, and much more.

2019 Subaru Forester: Technology Features

Perhaps the largest addition to the 2019 Forester is that the Subaru Eyesight Driver Assist Technology system now comes standard on every model, providing you with state of the art safety features like pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and more. Many other safety features are also available, including rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot detection, reverse automatic braking, LED steering responsive headlights, and a new Subaru DriverFocus system that acts as a copilot along the way. The standard Starlink multimedia system also sees updates, including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, allowing you to listen to your favorite music, make phone calls, send messages and much more on the go!

Subaru Forester Comparison

If you already drive a Subaru Forester you know that there is no other vehicle that can compare. But if you are considering the 2019 Subaru Forester you will want to know how does it compare to other popular models? Like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. To help our customers find the information they are looking for we have compared the RAV4 and CR-V to the all-new 2019 Forester in all the ways that matter most. So the only thing left for you to do is come down to Subaru of Keene for a test drive. Once behind the wheel, you will see why so many other drivers only choose the Subaru Forester.

Subaru Forester vs. Honda CR-V

  • Advanced Safety: Like many drivers comparing similar vehicles you want to see what safety features each vehicle has to offer and this is one way that the Subaru Forester outshines the Honda CR-V. The 2019 Forester has more standard and available safety features to offer than the Honda CR-V. Every Forester comes standard with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. Similar features aren't available on every CR-V trim level. The Forester is also available with DriverFocus distracted and drowsy driver mitigation system and LED Steering Responsive Headlights. Both features that aren't available on the Honda CR-V.
  • Interior Space: The Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester are very similar in size but the Forester offers more flexible cargo space and more comfortable seating. The Subaru Forester offers more total passenger space, more front and rear headroom, more front legroom, and more total cargo space.
  • Price: At the end of the day everyone has a budget and doesn't want to pay more for less. Once again, the Subaru Forester comes out on top and is more affordable as well as better equipped. The Honda CR-V starts at $24,350, but to get all-wheel-drive you will have to pay extra. You will also have to pay more or pick an upper-level model to get advanced safety features. The Subaru Forester starts at just $24,295 and comes standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and EyeSight.
  • Subaru Forester vs. Toyota RAV4

  • Powertrain: The 2019 Subaru Forester is more efficient and powerful than ever before with a new 2.5L four-cylinder BOXER engine under the hood. The Forester now generates 182 horsepower and comes standard with Auto Start-Stop technology to get up to 33 highway mpg. The Toyota RAV4 is not as powerful and not as fuel efficient, especially when equipped with all-wheel-drive. The all-wheel-drive RAV4 only gets 28 highway mpg and produces 176 horsepower.
  • Performance: One feature that has not changed from one model year to the next on the Subaru Forester is standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. This is one of the biggest reasons why Keene drivers choose the Forester over the competition. Unmatched traction and control no matter how much snow falls. All-wheel-drive on the RAV4 will cost you an extra $2,000 and is also not as effective as Subaru's legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
  • Safety: The Toyota RAV4 isn't the only compact SUV on the road with standard driver assist technology. The 2019 Subaru Forester now comes standard with Subaru EyeSight technology. Toyota Safety Sense doesn't feature the same features as EyeSight. In fact, the RAV4 isn't available with some of the features of EyeSight; like Pre-Collision Throttle Management. The RAV4 also isn't available with a number of other features that the 2019 Forester has to offer that include LED Steering Responsive Headlights and DriverFocus distracted and drowsy mitigation system.
