Dear Mr. Carey, I want to thank you and your staff for the gentle support that you provided in helping me select my new Outback. I had done all of the research prior to entering your showroom, reading Consumer Report, test driving a number of cars, reading on-line reviews, and price-shopping through various local and regional newspapers. When all was said and done, the toss-up was easily between the Subaru Forester and the Outback. Subarus are excellent cars, but what sold me on my purchase was the relaxed, family-centered atmosphere of your dealership. Your salesman (Curt Finnamore) helped me to decide between my two choices by simply identifying the pluses that both cars had to offer. There was no "hard sell"; rather he listened to what I needed and identified how each car met my individual selection criteria. What was even more impressive was the attention he paid to the other, non-purchasing members of my family. Your salesman (and you) spent an amazing amount of time, during a busy evening, talking to my thirteen -year -old granddaughter who accompanied me. You let her sit behind the driver's seat, chatted about your own children, and invited her to help her grandfather pick out the color of the car that she liked best! When you noticed the picture of a Labrador Retriever on my sweatshirt (Charlie Dog, one of the great loves of my life), you immediately went into your cubicle and came out with two Subaru Pet T-shirts, one in a small for my granddaughter's Pug and an Extra Large for me to take home for Charlie! It is rare that I enjoy the car-shopping experience. This time, however, I can honestly say that the enjoyment of the experience was equal to the enjoyment I feel as I drive around Brattleboro in my new Outback! Once a car is purchased the buyer's contacts remain in the Service Department. I've dealt with many Service Departments over the years and Dale's department has been the best. Dale makes car maintenance a pleasant experience by being honest, humorous, informative, easy going, consistent and helpful. He'll rectify any mistakes made and always provides the information a consumer needs to make decisions concerning their cars. I have been very pleased with Subaru's since 2000. That is when I met Dale Peloquin at the Keene NH dealership. He now fills the position of Service Manager, I believe, because of his wonderful technique with people. He shows compassion to everyone and always goes the extra mile. It seems the service attendants who work with him are taking Dale's example personally. There is a 'clean' atmosphere with respectful people who do their very best to make costly car repairs and maintenance not hurt so much. I think Dale should be commended for his efforts to make service visits for older ladies and gentlemen much easier without so much stress. I have told him I appreciate him but it would be nice if the guy got an 'Atta boy' from the higher ups.
